Gumpy Belfast Weeeeekender

Myself and GoldPeg were recently whisked to Northern Ireland to paint a bigtime jazzy puppy mural.

Me and Gold Peg made a show this summer in Stoke-on-Trent. Stoke was very fruitfull, and alongside a very vibrant body of studio work we’d been making over the previous months, we filled the show with all the detritus and treasure from the exceptional selection of car boots, wastegrounds, and shut down chinese restaurants. A lot of the work wasn’t just about being looked at, and really the show was all about the opening night. For example I had hacked Streets of Rage and you were invited to duck into the savage wolf den to play it. Gold Peg had built a petrol gokart which needed some kind of inauguration ceremony: among other things it had a ceramic column and a watermelon tied on behind it, clearly designed for smashing. A goat was sacrificed. Cops were bribed. A great time was had by all.

WHO DARES

London Artists Gold Peg and Malarky have been letting loose in Stoke-on-Trent. In amongst the wastelands, backsies, and car boot communities, they’ve been conjuring up a chaotic selection of wild animals for their upcoming exhibition ‘Who Dares’. With an array of neons, smashed bricks, and combustible fuels the private view promises to be dangerous, and well worth the expedition.
